About GENESIS

GENESIS is an Erasmus+ project addressing the increasing demand for engineers capable of supporting the green and digital transition. The project unites European higher education institutions to improve engineering education by integrating sustainability principles, advanced digital tools, and innovative teaching methods. Through interdisciplinary collaboration and strong links with industry, GENESIS reinforces the connection between education, research, and real-world engineering challenges.

What GENESIS Aims to Achieve?

Through its activities, the project aims to prepare engineering students, PhD candidates, and academic staff to:

  • address climate and sustainability challenges,
  • apply advanced digital engineering tools,
  • respond to the evolving needs of industry and society.

In this way, GENESIS supports higher education in meeting sustainability and digitalisation challenges in engineering education.

GENESIS Goals and Outcomes

GENESIS pursues the following specific objectives:

  • Develop new courses focused on green and digital engineering solutions.
  • Create open and innovative learning materials on sustainability, the circular economy, energy systems, and digital tools.
  • Strengthen digital competences through training in advanced engineering software and simulation tools.
  • Enhance practical learning through workshops, summer schools, and collaboration with industry.
  • Promote innovative teaching methods, such as flipped classrooms, virtual simulations, and blended learning.
  • Disseminate project results widely to ensure long-term impact beyond the project duration.

Together, these objectives emphasise practical skills, real-world applications, and meaningful learning experiences.
